2006 Ford Mustang V6 Premium 2dr Coupe Overview

The Ford Mustang's design is a throwback to the original Mustang, but it's also functional and well finished. It is faster and more agile; quieter and better built; and it rides more smoothly than ever before.

The Mustang is available as either a fastback coupe or convertible, each with either a 210 hp 4.0-liter overhead-cam V6 or 300 hp 4.6-liter V8 engine. The V6 comes in the base trim and the V8 in the GT trim. All come standard with a five-speed manual transmission, but all are available with a five-speed automatic. Safety features on all Mustangs include dual-stage front impact airbags and three-point belts for all seats. Antilock brakes and traction control are standard on the GTs and optional on the V6 models.

For 2006, the Ford Mustang gets a new Pony Package and the V8s are available with trendy new 18-inch wheels.

NHTSA rates crash-tested vehicles by assigning them one to five stars, with five stars indicating the most injury protection and one star indicating the least protection.
