2002 Ford Focus Owner Reviews

I've had the standard maintenance done to the car, and it's proved a strong reliability rating from me. I would highly recommend it to others. I think all cars depend on the user and quality of products they use on the machinery. It's not always the machines fault. I've made 160,000 miles on this car and drove it from I-10 West Coast to I-10 East Coast. Forgot the bad stigma people put on Ford, it's by far a great product for the price.

WORST CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED I HAVE TWO, BOTH HAD TRANSMISSIONS FAIL AT UNDER 25,000 MILES ROTORS HAVE TO BE REPLACED WITH EVERY BRAKE CHANGE. HORRIBLE GAS MILES! ENGINE PROBLEM WHICH TOOK DEALER OVER A YEAR TO FIND THE PROBLEM AND FIX IT. HORRIBLE FACTORY RESPONSE TO PROBLEMS

I have the 2002 ford focus lx. The brakes work good and the interior is comfy. The engine lasts pretty well so far up to 570000 miles and even from a rear end collision. The engine is the best thing but at 10000 the rear ball bearings had to be replaced BECAUSE we bought an older model that has been on the lot for so long. The only two complaints I have is the ignition is cheap and the arm rest is a little weak.

At 900 miles, I had to have the left front rotor replaced. At 3500 I had to have both front rotors replaced. At 6700, I had to have the rotors replaced again, and this time Ford would not warranty them. Ford wanted $400 to replace them, (with original equipment.) I went to my local speed shop and had the rear drums, brakes and front discs and pads replaced for $500. I now have 45,000 miles on it and no breaking problems at all.
