I bought this car in April of 2006 and it was trouble right from the start. Within a week of purchasing it I had to get the car towed. While I learned to live with the car's quirky everyday defects, like the ac constantly quitting, the radio being able to play without a key in the ignition, excessive noise, the feeling that I was driving a tin can, and my personal favorite being able to pull the key out of the ignition after the car was started and still being able to drive. It was a decent car that got around and never really broke down. Wouldn't recommend to anybody though. horribly loud on the road, rough drive, stiff steering, feels like a tin can. ignition locked up and couldn't start car, seems like a very common problem. instead of wasting money fixing it i just traded it in for a mazda. pros, good gas mileage

I bought this car this past April, and have been quite happy with it. It gets great gas mileage, and is quite spunky on the highway when I need it to be. I don't like to go that fast, and it is good at just going at a normal pace as well. The only major problem I have had with it is having to have the Restraint Control Module replaced. My Focus now has 96k miles and has been the best car i have ever owned. 2 sets of front brake pads,now on the 3rd set of tires,all belts and hoses at 75k,it still has the orig.battery, still gets 34-35 mpg hy.and 28--30 about town.auto trans has 2 fluid changes,no problems,1st tune up will be in 4k more miles,the fuel pump recall was the only warranty ever performed on it,I will most likely get another one in about another 60-80 thousand miles.if Ford would only bring the German Diesel model to …
