The Focus is now available as Ford's first all-electric vehicle. It includes all the qualities that make the Focus a great choice but with the added benefit of an all-electric drivetrain.

The front-wheel drive Focus Electric is available as a hatchback in one fully equipped trim. The 92-kW (123-hp) electric motor is combined with a one-speed automatic transmission and a regenerative braking system. A 23-kWh liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery can be charged from either 120 or 240 volts. Standard features include MyFord Touch with an 8-inch touchscreen, HID headlamps, Navigation system, Sony audio with 9-speakers, heated seats and exterior mirrors, and push-button start. Safety features include six airbags, anti-lock brakes, security alarm, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The only options are leather seats and two paint colors.

The Ford Focus Electric hatchback is all-new for 2012.

AT A GLANCE

Ford estimates that a depleted Focus Electric battery pack will recharge in as little as three to four hours using a 240-volt home charging station, roughly twice as fast as the Leaf.
