I bought the 2006 Ford 500 two years ago. I have put 60,000 miles on it commuting & visiting my kids in college. I really like it. No repairs, except a brake job and oil changes every 5,000 miles, The milage is usually over 25 MPG mixed(depending on highway mix). Huge trunk, plent of room, great visiblity. The CVT transmission is better than the CVT transmission that I had on Cadilac Caterra, my previous car

What a car!

I have had my 500 for one year now. It is, without doubt, the best value car I have ever purchased. Mine is an AWD Limited and I couldn't be happier. As to those who say it is underpowered, I find the power very adequate for urban or highway driving. This is not the fastest car I have ever owned, but if I wanted the kind of acceleration that people say it should have, I would have bought a Maserati. The car has the same level of aplomb and balance as an E350. True, it won't accelerate…

Classy looking car, performs well, smooth ride, great options, large comfortable interior, large trunk, seats the driver a bit higher up than most sedans. I can't believe that Ford decided to stop making this fabulous car. The new Taurus grill is not nearly as nice looking as the 500's is. Guess they never heard "you never change a winner"!
