2001 Ford E-250 Overview
Introduction
The Ford E-250 is a powerful full-size, rear-wheel drive cargo van.
For 2001, customers have the choice of two sizes when purchasing an E-250 van: standard and extended length. Each size is available with 2 trims levels, commercial and recreational. The E-250 cargo vans are powered by either a 4.2L V-6 engine, which produces 191 hp @ 4800 rpm and 244 lb-ft @ 2750 rpm, or the more impressive 5.4L V-8 engine, which increases the van's output to 255 hp @ 4500 rpm and 350 lb-ft @ 2500 rpm. A 4-speed automatic transmission also comes standard on all E-250 models. As an additional upgrade, customers also have the option of selecting a 5.4L natural gas V-8 engine. The E-250 has a payload rating of up to 3520 lbs and towing capacity of up to 7500 lbs. Standard features on the E-250 include: 4-wheel disc brakes, ABS, and 16” wheels. In terms of mileage, the 2001 E-250 averages 13-14 mpg city and 18-19 mpg highway driving.NHTSA Frontal Crash Test
