2005 Ford E-150 Overview

Introduction

The Ford E-150 is a full-size rear-wheel drive van that has the versatility to handle both cargo-hauling and passenger-carrying.

The cargo version of the E-150 comes in two trim levels, recreational and commercial, and the passenger version (the wagon) is available in three trims: XL, XLT, and Chateau. Both van and wagon come standard with a 4-speed automatic transmission and a 4.6L V-8 engine, which outputs 225 hp @ 4800 rpm and 286 lb-ft @ 3500 rpm. For extra power there is an optional engine upgrade to a 5.4L V-8, which increases the power output to 255 hp @ 4500 rpm and 350 lb-ft @ 2500 rpm. The cargo version has two front bucket seats, whereas the passenger wagon can seat up to eight.

Dual front airbags and 4-wheel disc ABS come standard on both versions.

The Ford E-150 is the largest cargo and passenger van produced by the company. Designed to be large people movers or working vehicles, these vans offer large interior room and little amenities.

The passenger version of the E-150 comes in XL, XLT and Chateau Wagon trims. It can carry up to eight people and comes with air conditioning, interval wipers and a tilt steering wheel standard. The cargo version has a volume of 236.5 cubic feet. The E-150 has the option of two engines: a 225hp 4.6-liter V-8 or a 255hp 5.4-liter V-8. Both are controlled by a four-speed automatic transmission.

For 2007, the Ford E-150 receives electronic throttle control and an oil cooler.
