2001 Ford E-150 Overview
Introduction
The Ford E-150 is a full-size, rear-wheel drive van available as either a passenger-carrying or a cargo-hauling vehicle.
The E-150 cargo van is available with commercial and recreational trims, while the E-150 passenger model offers customers the option of the XL and the XLT trims. There are three engines available on the E-150: the 4.2L V-6, which produces 191 hp @ 4800 rpm and 244 lb-ft @ 2750 rpm, a 4.6L V-8, and a 5.4L V-8, which outputs 255 hp @ 4500 rpm and 350 lb-ft @ 2500 rpm. A 4-speed automatic transmission also comes standard on all models of the E-150 vans. The passenger E-150 can seat up to eight occupants, while the cargo models have a payload rating of up to 3520 lbs and a towing capacity of up to 7500 lbs. Standard features include: 4-wheel disc brakes, ABS, and 16” wheels. In terms of mileage, the 2001 Ford E-150 averages 14-16 mpg city and 19-21 mpg highway driving.NHTSA Frontal Crash Test
