The Fiat 500 is coming to America thanks to the Chrysler-Fiat combination. Italian styling in a subcompact two door hatchback brings flair and high-tech to Chrysler showrooms.

Available in three trim levels, Pop, Sport and Lounge, the 500 is powered by a 1.4-liter MultiAir four-cylinder engine producing 101 horsepower. Two transmissions are offered, a five-speed manual, and an exclusive to North America six-speed automatic with sequential shifting. The 500 will seat four passengers in a modern and artistic interior thay pays homage to the 50 years of the Cinquecento. Occupants are protected by seven airbags, active front head restraints, electronic stability and traction control and a tire pressure monitoring system. Available high-tech features include a TomTom navigation system, Blue & Me handsfree communication with a USB port, a Bose sound system and SIRIUS satellite radio. There are fourteen exterior colors, as well as fourteen unique seat color and material combination to choose from. The 500 Abarth will be added to the line-up later in the model year, it boasts a 160-hp turbo version of the base engine as well as upgraded sport seats, performance suspension, and various Abarth badges and interior upgrades.

The Fiat brand returns to the United States after a 26-year hiatus, the 500 coupe is the first offering.

Now, as a Chrysler product, the Fiat 500 is being made in Mexico for the North American market. ... Read Full Review

    AT A GLANCE

...the 500s we get are slightly different from those in the rest of the world. A stronger body structure, more sound insulation and things such as bigger seats and satellite radio added 80 pounds to the car.
