Dodge Nitro

The Nitro, a mid-size SUV from Dodge combines a high belt line, and a raised seating position for passengers in a unique and distinctive "boxy" shape to set itself apart from other mid-size SUV's.

The Dodge Nitro comes in both a 4x2 and a 4x4 version and each offers two trims: the SXT and the SLT. Both trims come with a standard 210-hp 3.7 liter V6 engine. The SXT trim comes with a standard six-speed manual transmission with an optional four-speed automatic. The SLT trim comes with a standard four-speed automatic but an optional R/T package ups the ante by equipping the Nitro with a 260-hp 4.0 liter V6 engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. The Nitro's SXT trim offers standard amenities such as power mirrors, windows and door locks with remote keyless entry, satellite radio, air conditioning and seating for 5. The SXT and R/T add alloy wheels, power driver's seat, YES Essentials stain repellent cloth, the innovative LOAD 'N GO retractable cargo floor, cruise control and an overhead console with a trip computer, compass and exterior temperature display. Standard safety features include: front airbags, side curtain airbags, traction and stability control with roll-over mitigation, brake assist, and a tire-pressure monitor.

For 2008, the Dodge Nitro now has satellite radio as standard equipment.
