2006 Dodge Grand Caravan Overview

Introduction

The Dodge Grand Caravan is a more option friendly version of the Dodge Caravan. In an era of increasing SUV purchases, the Dodge Grand Caravan offers more practicality and features than other vans and SUVs.

The 'Stow 'n Go' system allows for easy interchangeable configurations that are conducive to transporting people and furniture right after each other. As the Grand Caravan is upgraded, engine capacity increases from a 3.3-liter V6 to a 3.8-liter V6. Each Grand Caravan model increases with standard features and adds a dizzying amount of options, including the practical 'Stow 'n Go' seating configurations, dual power sliding doors, fog lamps, roof rack, eight-way power driver's seat, and backseat entertainment system.

Changes for 2006 are minimal.

The Dodge Grand Caravan is a family friendly vehicle offering the features and flexibility that most buyers want.

The Grand Caravan comes in two trims: SE and SXT. It can carry up to seven passengers and features the Stow 'n Go seating system, the optional system features second-row and third-row seats that flip down into the floor. The SE is similarly equipped to the Caravan SE. But it's powered by the 3.3-liter V6 engine, and comes with more sophisticated airbags with Occupant Classification System and a driver's side inflatable knee blocker. The SXT is powered by a 3.8-liter V6 and comes standard with Stow 'n Go.

The Dodge Grand Caravan is a carryover from 2006.

The Dodge Grand Caravan is at the forefront of the minivan market offering the features and flexibility that many families find indispensible.

The Grand Caravan comes in two trims: SE and SXT. It can carry up to seven passengers and features standard Stow'n Go seats. The Swivel'n Go optional seating system features second-row seats that can rotate to face the third row. The SE is powered by the 3.3-liter V6 engine, which can run on either ethanol or gasoline, or both. The SXT is powered by a 3.8-liter V6 with an available 4.0-liter V6. With the ability to be fitted with features such as YES Essentials stain resistant fabric, remote engine start, power adjustable pedals, entertainment system, rear camera and more, the Grand Caravan offers something for everyone.

The Dodge Grand Caravan has been redesigned and is now only available in the longer wheelbase version.

The Dodge Grand Caravan is at the forefront of the minivan market offering the features and Innovative seating that many families find indispensable.

For those that don't know, the most important feature, both from a usability stand-point and competitive stand-point, is that this van features Stow'n Go seats. What that means is that all the seats can be folded into the floor. No more fumbling to release and remove awkward heavy seats and then trying to find a suitable place to store them. Combine this with YES Essentials seat trim that repels all but the most caustic stains, and you have a truly family-friendly vehicle. The SE is powered by a 175 horsepower 3.3-liter V6 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. The SXT model uses a more powerful 197 horsepower 3.8-liter V6, while a 251 horsepower 4.0-liter V6 is available. Both the standard and optional SXT engine choices use a six-speed automatic. All trims come equipped with a tilting steering column, remote keyless entry and a tire pressure monitor.
