2006 Dodge Caravan Overview
Introduction
The Dodge Caravan is a family friendly minivan offering the features and flexibility most buyers want. With many options and flexibility for every potential buyer's budget, the Caravan is viewed as one of the most practical cars on the road.
The Caravan can seat seven people and allows for much storage space. Although the 'Stow 'n Go' system is only available in the Grand Caravan, the standard model offers practicality that many other minivans do not. The Caravan is powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. As the Caravan is upgraded, engine capacity increases to a 3.3-liter V6 followed by a 3.8-liter V6. The model line up includes two vehicles, the Caravan SE, and the Caravan SXT. Each model increases with standard features and adds myriads of options, including dual power sliding doors, fog lamps, roof rack, eight-way power driver's seat, and backseat entertainment system.
Changes for 2006 are minimal.
NHTSA Frontal Crash Test
NHTSA rates crash-tested vehicles by assigning them one to five stars, with five stars indicating the most injury protection and one star indicating the least protection.
