2001 Dodge Caravan Overview
Introduction
One of the most recognizable and established North American vans is back, and the Dodge Caravan has pulled out all the stops this year to prove why no other minivan can compare.
The 2001 Caravan is available with two engines, either a robust 2.4L engine with 150 hp @ 5200 rpm, or a powerful 3.3L V-6 engine with 180 hp @ 5000 rpm. The Caravan comes with a 4-speed automatic transmission, and is fully loaded with safety and comfort features. The 2001 Caravan saw a complete redesign from the ground up, including a new power lift gate and a removable power center console. This year also saw the first enhanced V-6 engine that provides roughly 20% more power than in previous model years.NHTSA Frontal Crash Test
