2007 Chrysler Aspen Overview
Introduction
The Aspen is Chrysler's first attempt at a full-size sport utility vehicle. Similar to the Dodge Durango, the Aspen borrows the same platform as well as the historic name from Dodge.
The Aspen's suspension is the same independent, double-wishbone front design with a non-independent solid-axle rear that is found on the Durango. The interior has many wood-like trims and either cloth, leather, or leather-suede seats. It comes with the option of a 235 horsepower 4.7-liter V-8 or a 335 horsepower 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine. Both engines are mated to a five-speed automatic transmission and the more powerful V-8 is capable of shutting down 4 cylinders to conserve fuel. Rear-wheel drive is standard and two unique four-wheel drive systems are available.
The Chrysler Aspen is an all new model for 2007.
NHTSA Frontal Crash Test
NHTSA rates crash-tested vehicles by assigning them one to five stars, with five stars indicating the most injury protection and one star indicating the least protection.
