2006 Cadillac CTS-V Overview
Introduction
The rear-wheel-drive Cadillac CTS-V offers high-performance, comfort and overall engineering in a sports sedan. It is based off the CTS, but has additional performance upgrades.
The limited-production CTS-V comes stuffed with the 5.7-liter LS6 V8 engine developed for the Chevrolet Corvette, generating 400 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque. This monster engine comes mated to a Tremec six-speed manual gearbox. The package includes big Brembo brakes and other high-performance tweaks. Side-impact airbags and side air curtains come standard for front and rear passengers in addition to the standard dual frontal airbags.
For 2006, the Cadillac CTS-V gets an increase in engine power.
