2006 BMW 550 i 4dr Rear-wheel Drive Sedan Overview

The BMW 550 mixes comfort, performance, high-tech features and passenger-friendly accommodations in a relatively compact package. Yet with Active Steering, Active Roll Stabilization and an available manual transmission, it is more obviously engineered with an emphasis on the driving.

The 550 sedan seats five passengers in its leatherette and wood trimmed interior. It provides luxurious accommodations like a 10-speaker twin subwoofer sound system and rain-sensing wipers. It is powered by a 360 hp 4.8-liter V-8. It can be equipped with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission with Steptronic. With the automatic there are manual and sport modes. Safety features include antilock brakes, tire-pressure monitor, dynamic stability control, side-, curtain-, and front-airbags.

For 2006, the BMW 550 gets a power upgrade and all-wheel drive is available.
