2002 Audi S8 Overview

Introduction

The S8 is the performance-enhanced flagship of Audi's 2002 lineup.

The Audi S8 is modeled after the A8 luxury sedan, though, as an added bonus, the vehicle features all the cutting edge innovation that Audi has to offer. The S8 is powered by a 4.2L V-8 engine, which produces 360 hp @ 7000 rpm and 317 lb-ft @ 3400 rpm, and a 5-speed automatic transmission. The S8 is also equipped with Audi's Quattro permanent all-wheel drive system, which allows drivers to put the power to the ground. The interior of the car is outfitted with standard leather upholstery, eight airbags, and power heated front seats. Options include such luxuries as navigation, upgraded leather appointments, and a sunroof.

For 2002, the S8 receives a few minor body and interior changes, including an improved electronic stability program with Brake Assist, and an in-dash CD changer.
