Introduction

The Audi A3 comes packed with technology and it boasts the sporty driving dynamics and high quality standards of a German sedan. It is a combination of open-road dynamism, long-haul friendliness, around-town usefulness and fuel economy.

The Audi A3 2.0 T is front-wheel drive and powered by the new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 200 horsepower. Two transmissions are available: a standard six-speed manual or optional Direct Shift Gearbox (DGS) automatic. All A3 models come in the Sportback five-door hatchback body style. The A3 2.0 T is available in three trim levels, 2.0 T, 2.0 T Sport and 2.0 T Premium.

To provide passenger safety the A3 has side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags, active front head restraints, and optional rear side-impact airbags.

For 2009, along with the addition of quattro availability to the 2.0T engine, the styling inside and out gets a full refresh including new bumpers, grille, taillights and headlights with R8-like LED front daytime running lights.

The 2.0T comes standard with a six-speed manual or optional automatic S-tronic transmission that allows manual selection of gears. The only choice with the TDI is the S-tronic. Quattro all-wheel drive is also available with the 2.0T engine, but then your only transmission choice is the S-tronic. Some high-tech A3 features include Bluetooth phone connectivity, light and rain sensors, satellite radio and dual-zone automatic climate control. For 2010, the TDI engine has been introduced, the 3.2 V6 engine has been dropped from the line-up, and the former S line package bumpers and rear spoiler are now standard equipment.
