2002 Acura TL Overview

Introduction

The front-wheel drive Acura TL is a refined, mid-sized sedan, which offers a winning combination of sport and luxury.

The Acura TL is available in two trim levels: the TL and the performance-oriented TL Type-S. The TL trim comes with a 3.2L V-6 engine, which produces 225 hp @ 5600 rpm and 216 lb-ft @ 4700 rpm, while the TL Type-S trim features a dynamic 3.2L V-6 engine, which outputs 260 hp @ 6100 rpm and 232 lb-ft @ 3500 rpm. Both engines are paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission with SportShift manual control. As well, every TL is equipped with a power moonroof, Bi-Xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights, heated front seats, leather upholstery, and automatic climate control. The TL Type-S is distinguished by a more aggressive exterior sporting modified fascias, wider side sills, quad tailpipes, rear spoiler, and exclusive alloy wheels; distinctive interior styling cues include two-tone leather sport seats, and stainless steel pedals.

For 2002, the Acura TL Type-S is a completely new vehicle to the line up.
