We tried this back in the 70's with gasohol. It did not work then. It won't work now. Gasohol caused a lot of problems in cars back then, E 85 will cause problems in cars today. I know it because I used it in a car back then and messed up my carburator. You actually use more fuel with alcohol based fuel because alcohol has 72% less energy than straight gasoline. This concept is not new. Try again.

Am I missing something here. When was gasoline as aluded to in this article $2.286 a gallon. Let's get with it and bring these articles up to date. I think gasoline, I see it, will be breaking the $4.00 mark pretty soon. I see some ?Flex fue"l vehicles around in the Michigan area but I don't think they are buying "flex fuel". If the "flex fuel" is going to flex the cost upwards - the nation is going nowhere with this concept. The government better start acting on this or the whole concept of reducing oil dependency will " go out with the baby water " so to speak.
