The version of the 100mpg carb I heard was the oil companies had the mechanic killed they say he had proven it can work and be mass produced, they say he was a regular family man one day he left home and his wife never saw him and again.......and all his specs and blueprints were never found.

Rex Roy must be a college graduate majoring in basket weaving and just introduced to the new math. First of all , the text breakdown on the price of gas , the percentages total 106%, while the bar graph totals 100%, changing the taxes from 20% to 14%. So just as an example, say crude is $100.00 a barrell, and a barrell being 50 gallon, that makes crude to be $2.00 gallon, therefore the total cost of fuel must be $3.51 per gallon based on the 14% tax, where he gets the 20% tax, who knows. I have been buying 87 octane for $2.99 at Murphy's and even cheaper in the past.

The 100mpg carburator was developed by a mechanic in the US. Ford bought the rights to it, but their engineers could not make it work on a mass production scale, so they dropped it.Last I heard of it.

How many of the people owning stock in the oil comapny's are the ones fussing the most? Were you happy to see your stock prices going up? How many Americans own this stock? Face it THE PROBLEM IS FACING YOU. THE RICH GET RICHER AND THE POOR GET POORER.
Nakita Kruschev said when I was a young man that the United Stated would be taken over without ever firing a shot...the fall of the "US EMPIRE" is happening right now due to greed and moralistic values. Wake up Americans before it is too late!!

So where does the excessive profits fit in. According to this article there doesn't seem to be any. The oil companies are raping us. How many gallons do they produce? How much profit is there per gallon. At 12 Billion Dollars a quarter, if they sell 12 Billion gallons, then that is an extra $ 1.00 per gallon. That is why I am headed for Biodiesel. www.biodiesel.org My next truck will be diesel, so I can switch to Biodiesel for my truck and heating oil. Save the enviroment, save my wallet, reduce consumption, and put the oil companies out of business. What's not to like

Pogo said we have met the enemy and he is us. Lower mpg standards should be required.
Better driving habits , knock off the jack rabbit starts and over the speed limit driving.Lower highway speed limits not higher.

Largest oil company profits ever. Highest gas prices. Everything travels by truck or auto, and the service industry can't raise prices because of so many people out of work= less profit. BUSH AND HIS OIL FRIENDS HAVE DESTROYED THE ECONOMY! Largest oil company profits ever.
