James Wood was recording a video of a passing Union Pacific because his four-year-old son has a fascination with trains. He wound up with dramatic footage of a puzzling accident at a Utah railroad crossing.

A semi truck from a local water treatment plant drives onto the tracks moments before the train, horns blaring, comes barreling through the crossing and smashes the truck's trailer to bits. The accident occurred in Wellington, Utah, about 80 miles southeast of Provo.

No one was injured, a fact that stunned the witness, who ran to the scene.

"He got out of the truck, and I said, 'Are you all right?,'" Wood told KSL-TV. "He said, 'I'm fine.' I said, 'Dude!'"

The driver of the truck later told police he did not see the train coming. But as the video shows, in broad daylight, the train was sounding its horn and signals at the crossing were working at the time of the accident.
