Driver Shoots Himself In Both Legs With 'The Judge'

I guess it's just me that finds it off putting that the author of this little report makes the comment, "Not surprisingly, police found drugs in Newberry's car."

It would seem that the AOL Autos Staff(er) labors under the assumption that if someone has a firearm in his or her car, then there will probably be drugs present as well.

So if I, who has never done drugs, is a registered health care administrator subject to level 3 background checks, concealed carry permit holder (also subject to extensive background checks) and person who hasn't even had a parking ticket in more than 20 years, were to have an accident with a firearm in my car or elsewhere, this idiot would probably write, "It was a surprise when drugs were NOT found... "

It is a patently ignorant assumption but not surprising given the leftist, anti-2nd Amendment proclivities of AOL.

Went back and read the article again. He just calls it the "Judge". A gun named the Judge shoots 410 or 45's. Don't think he could walk away from that one.

After reading the article and not being much of a gun enthusiast, I see that I was probably wrong about a revolver like that having a safety, and maybe that is true of all revolvers, so forgot about that part of my previous post. I stand by the rest of my post though.

Yeah, the drugs he was carrying was a 12 pack of bud light. Idiots like the author of this story don't deserve to be able to write things for public consumption. Apparently this idiot author or the rest of you that followed like sheeples in his foot steps assumed that he didn't just get caught with "drug," but that he was under the influence of drugs at the time. That is just such a self-righteous and lame assumption. One thing is for sure though, more gun shootings, accidental and intentional, involve our legal party drug way more than they do the illegal party drugs, especially the herb, which should be this country's only legal party drug if you all are so willing to let your handlers tell you that only one is allowed. The real question here is why he didn't have the safety set on the gun, or whether there was some malfunction.

The weapon pictured is NOT a "Judge"... It is an older Smith & Wesson, Probably a .44 , but I am not sure of the exact model number. It's a K-frame, though. The "Judge" is made by Taurus USA and has a VERY LONG cylinder to accommodate the .410 shotgun shells it can fire, It also can fire .45 long colt. And remember, guns aren't bad- but some PEOPLE are...

The story says he named his weapon "The Judge".Also the Idiot will at least be charged with the drugs.Some posters are no smarter than he is.Please read the story before you judge the reporter.

The only "Judge" he has to worry about now is the one that is most likely sentence him to a boat load of time for the drugs he had.

I carry birdshot (snake round) in the first bullet chamber of my pistol. The rest are man stoppers. I am not so much interested in killing a perp as I am in moderating his conduct. I assure you that a .410 shell anywhere under 15 feet will stop anyone. Hard to miss them also. Buckshot would be a bout the size of a .22 round and would definitely do a lot of damage. Stop watching so much TV and get educated folks.

The "Judge" is a gun that fires both .410 shotgun shells and cased, standard centerfire .45 caliber ammunition.

His wounds should be quite serious as he was apparently hit with a .45 as it passed through one leg and into the other. Had it been a .410 shotgun shell, it would have almost severed the leg at the thigh, stopping there.

He will face a minimal drug charge and maybe, just maybe he will get straight and keep out of trouble in the future. Those wounds are life-long so he will always have a reminder.
